Dinotica Guides Hub
How to play, hatch, breed, farm, and clear chapters without wasting a week on the wrong loop.
This hub is the map for every practical Dinotica tutorial on the wiki. The game is no longer a vague Early Access sketch: the 1.0 build that shipped on 12 August 2026 asks you to raise companions, fund a settlement, and ride into room-based expeditions that actually punish sloppy parties. If you only bookmark one page, start with Getting Started and then branch into the specialist guides below.
What these guides are for
Dinotica looks cozy until the hatchery, the farm, and the rift all demand attention on the same evening. Players bounce between four jobs: hatching eggs, assigning workers, stacking totems, and picking a chapter exit. Each guide here covers one of those jobs in depth instead of repeating a generic “have fun with dinosaurs” blurb.
Read How to Tame and Hatch when eggs pile up and you do not know which species belongs in battle. Open How to Breed when duplicates feel like clutter instead of fuel. Use Farm and Base when food, dung, leather, or workbench throughput stalls the next expedition. Jump to Dungeons and Bosses when Chapter 5 or Endless Mode is the actual goal. Dedicated 1.0 pages now sit beside those: Dark Forest for Chapter 5, Endless Mode for the 200-room climb, and Time-Space Rift for ranked Casual/Challenge. PC dropdowns only list eight rows; the rest live here on purpose.
How to move through the wiki
New tamers should finish the beginner loop, then check Controls before blaming the game for missed dodges. Couch and online groups should read Co-op before the second player sits down — split-screen is gated behind a second battle slot, and online parties meet at the boss room without merging homes.
When you need rankings instead of procedures, leave this hub for the Combat Tier List, the Worker Tier List, and Totem Builds. Encyclopedia pages live under Companions, Totems and Relics, Buildings, and Maps. Planning tools sit in the Team Builder and Breeding Planner.
1.0 context that changes older advice
Guides written against the 40-pet Early Access roster are incomplete. The full release advertises about 50 companions, five story chapters, roughly 75 bosses, Dark Forest as Chapter 5, Endless Mode stretched to 200 rooms, and online co-op on top of local play and Remote Play Together. Full Launch Notes and Patch Notes keep those numbers honest when a hotfix lands.
If you are still deciding whether to buy, the Review summarises what Steam players praise (the Cult of the Lamb plus creature-collector loop) and what they grind against (breeding RNG, cramped rooms, optimistic power ratings).
Use this hub as a table of contents, not as a substitute for the child pages. Each child page cross-links its siblings so you can hop from hatching to breeding without returning here every time.
Frequently Asked Questions
Quick answers drawn from the current 1.0 build.
Where should a brand-new player start?
Open Getting Started, hatch at least one combat mount, then run a Casual Emerald Forest expedition before decorating the settlement.
Do these guides assume the 1.0 release?
Yes. Advice here treats 12 August 2026 as the live build, including Dark Forest and online co-op.
Is there a codes page?
No. Dinotica does not use public redeem codes. Progress comes from expeditions, breeding, and seasonal decorations.
