Dinotica Team Builder

Four jobs, three rift slots, one body that should stay home. Tick what you actually staffed.

Team Builder

A Dinotica party is not “your strongest three dinosaurs.” It is one mount you can steer, up to two AI partners who work off-angle, and at least one adult who never sees the rift. This team builder is a role checklist for that rule. Use it after Getting Started and whenever a chapter wipe makes you want to swap everyone at once.

How to use the ticks

Check Rider if the dinosaur you control has a basic attack you can read in a cramped room. Check AI damage if a second kit still deals damage when it is not stacked on your hitbox. Check Support if someone drops walls, pulls, tethers, or denial. Check Worker if a specialist remains on hunting, farming, or crafting.

The status line under the ticks tells you whether the combination is combat-ready or still missing a mount. It will not invent DPS numbers. Official English stat sheets do not exist.

Tick one job per slot. A healthy 1.0 party is one rider, one off-angle partner, optional support, and a worker who never enters the rift.

No slots selected yet.

Story clear: rider + AI + worker. Support optional until Dark Forest.

Boss hunt: rider + AI + support, worker still at home on a hunt. Do not empty the settlement for 混沌.

Couch co-op: two riders (one per human) plus AI if slots remain. Unlock the second battle slot first — Co-op.

Economy recovery: park combat kits, tick worker only, run hunts and Farm and Base until leather exists again.

What to seat in each job

Riders: readable projectiles or simple melee. Named examples such as Vexora belong here if you can survive the particle count. AI: roaming kits and pulls (Gluttony). Support: wall droppers plus relics from Totem Builds. Workers: anyone the Worker Tier List would keep at home.

New 1.0 hatchlings without English names still fit these ticks. Test the basic shot, then check a box. Companions is the name shelf, not a substitute for a trial room in Emerald Forest.

Mistakes the ticks catch

Three riders, zero workers. Two workers, no readable mount. Support in the rider seat because the model looks rare. Taking your only hunter into Endless Mode 200. All of those fail the checklist on purpose.

Breeding does not change the ticks until the child can actually perform the job. Stars on a worker do not make a rider. See How to Breed and the Breeding Planner.

When Flame Rift stutters, uncheck particle-heavy support and read System Requirements. Hardware is part of team building in this game.

Revisit the ticks after each biome boss because battle slots and hunt slots unlock on that cadence. Then go play the rooms. The builder is a gate, not a destination.

If you host Remote Play Together, ticks describe the host save. Guests cannot staff a worker on a town they do not own. If you queue online, each human should tick their own rider before they meet at the boss — comparing screenshots in Discord is faster than arguing in the doorway. Named 1.0 newcomers still fit the same four boxes; a missing English string is not a fifth role.

When a wipe happens, change one tick, not four. Swap the rider first if you cannot read shots. Swap support first if the GPU died. Swap the worker only if leather was the actual cause. That discipline is the whole point of a builder that refuses to simulate damage.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Quick answers drawn from the current 1.0 build.

Why is there a worker box if only three dinos enter combat?

Because the fourth job still has to exist. If nobody stays home, the next chapter has no leather.

Can I tick every box on one species?

You can, and you should not. Split jobs across bodies so a wipe does not also freeze the farm.

Does this use live Steam data?

No. It is an offline role checklist for the 1.0 party rules.

Where do I read about actual kits?

Combat and worker tier lists, plus the companions wiki.
